Performance
USB graphics adapters work by rendering 2D/3D with your notebook’s CPU and GPU, and then compressing and transmitting the pixels that change over USB. Dual core or 2Ghz or better CPU not compulsory. Not compulsory for web and applications, not 3D

I downloaded the OS X driver from the manufacturer website, installed it, restarted and connected the monitor. Works just fantastic and delivers a fantastic picture. On more wits to like this adapter is that it comes super complete with adapters for VGA and HDMI and a USB cable. Given the fact that Apple takes 30 Dollars just for a Mini Displayport to DVI adapter (which, of way, you can also buy here at Amazon for ) I find the that I paid for this USB adapter a reasonable solution to connect another monitor to an iMac. 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful wow…it works fantastic, October 22, 2010 This review is from: Plugable UGA-125 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI Adapter for Multiple Monitors up to 1280×1024 / 1440×900 Each (DisplayLink DL-125 Chipset) (Electronics) Bought it online at Amazon for under . Plugged it in and Windoze recognized it at once. I added it through the standard show GUI and was up and running in less than 5 minutes and have had zero problems with it. I don’t run games or anything with high speed graphics – mostly spreadsheets and static data. For my purposes, it works absolutely fantastic and doesn’t slow down my mainframe at all. I have 3 monitors whole – 1 mainframe – 1 external to mainframe and 1 via DisplayLink. |
