There are several ways to take the temperature of a baby. Using an ear thermometer, usually is not accurate because of the difficulty in getting the proper measurement device in the ear canal and place a thermometer in the mouth of a baby is not safe. 2. Clean and dry the baby’s armpit.

5. Read the thermometer. Normal axillary temperature is 36.5 C. However, the temperature of a normal child can range from 36.4 to 37.7 degrees C.
